We have one release rule and it is not about polish. It is about difference.
If two of our games share a feature, one of them should not exist. That applies between titles, and it applies inside them: if two rounds of the same game land on the same rhythm and the same anticipation beats, one of those rounds is not finished, no matter how good it looks.
That rule has sent more finished work back to the start than any budget ever has. It is also the only reason a two-game catalogue is worth anyone's attention.
We would rather be late than be the thing we started this studio to avoid.
